Session Program
7:15 pm
Cattle presenting with neurologic disease represent a significant diagnostic challenge to the veterinarian. Accurate differentiation and diagnosis is critical, due to the potential zoonotic and herd-level implications of many bovine neurologic diseases. This session will use photos and videos to demonstrate localization of neurologic lesions in cattle. Common areas of confusion will be clarified using real-life examples. The sign-time graph will be presented as a useful tool in categorizing differential diagnoses based on clinical course

The primary aim of the backgrounding/vaccination study was to measure the effects of respiratory vaccines for cattle placed in local backgrounding facilities then feedlots on feedlot health and growth rate. With backgrounding, cattle are placed in a facility with more space than a feedlot pen, and fed a low grain ration or pasture.
