Bio
Peter Irwin recently retired from Murdoch University and is appointed Emeritus Professor. His career spanned nearly 40 years, working in many fields of veterinary science, from general practice to academia and research. Peter graduated from the RVC, London University, has a PhD from James Cook University, and has worked at the University of Melbourne, the Univerti Putra Malaysia (in Kuala Lumpur), and Murdoch University. He is a registered specialist in canine medicine and an internationally-recognised expert in vector-borne diseases. Peter’s current studies are funded by the Australian Research Council and the National Health and Medical Research Council into tick-associated diseases of companion animals, wildlife and humans.
