Dr Barbara Haesler is a Senior Lecturer in Agrihealth and animal health researcher at the Royal Veterinary College
(RVC), London, UK, with expertise in livestock and fish food systems, economics applied to animal health and One Health, surveillance and evaluation. She is working on various research projects focusing on livestock and fish food system change and the implications in terms of foodborne and zoonotic disease, food and nutrition security, and sustainability. She is interested in interdisciplinary approaches to understand contemporary challenges and identify solutions at the level of the system. Of particular interest to her is the integration of economic, social and epidemiological aspects in health challenges to contribute to better health for all. She teaches on various undergraduate and postgraduate courses and is the local lead person for the programme Interdisciplinary Food Systems Teaching and Learning
(IFSTAL), a cross-university learning initiative.
