Ben Gardiner completed studies in veterinary science at University of Sydney in 1979 and has enjoyed his entire career in clinical veterinary practice. As director of Nandewar Animal Health Services his practice serviced the rural towns and districts surrounding Barraba Manilla and Bingara in northern rural NSW. Ben has always remained connected with his community, including serving as a shire councillor. Being self-employed for almost four decades he engaged with the Universities in extramural teaching, as an external examiner and employed and mentored 31 young graduates. Ben has also been connected with colleagues across the spectrum of the AVA including serving as president of both the Cattle SIG and the AVA. Despite being so connected, he also likes to disconnect into the rich beauty of the wilderness areas of Tasmania and New Zealand. Ben has recently retired with his wife Robyn to the beautiful Bellinger Valley.
